Getting started
- Create or import at least one print paper template in the admin. You can also rely on the seed presets bundled with PaperTemplates.net.
- Open the generator, choose a slug and tweak spacing, colors or backgrounds until satisfied.
- Export to PDF/SVG/PNG. For offset printing, prefer PDF and enable printer marks.
Editor tips
Use the left panel of the generator to manage both page-level settings and template parameters. Every preset exposes only the settings that are meaningful for that layout - e.g. grid spacing for graph paper or staff count for music sheets. The live preview renders in millimetres, so what you see on screen will match your printer output.
PaperTemplates.net keeps values in millimetres to keep print paper templates accurate. When working with inch-based specifications, multiply by 25.4 or use the quick paper presets (A5/A4/A3/Letter/Legal/Tabloid) which automatically change width and height.
Export & print
- SVG: best for vector workflows or if you intend to edit the file in Illustrator, Affinity Designer or Figma.
- PNG: handy for quick sharing inside docs or chat. Exports at 96 DPI.
- PDF: ready for print. PaperTemplates.net sets the PDF canvas to the actual page size so your printer can run "actual size / 100%" without surprises.
Troubleshooting
If the preview looks blurry, increase your browser zoom or export as SVG/PDF and open in a dedicated viewer. Should a template fail to render, double-check that the JSON configuration stored in the database contains type, width, height and a params object.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I disable the watermark?
- Yes. Toggle “Show watermark” off or replace it with your studio name. Watermarks are optional and intended for review copies.
- Why are measurements in millimetres?
- PaperTemplates.net keeps a single millimetre unit system to avoid rounding issues. Convert inches to mm (1 in = 25.4 mm) before input to keep print paper templates accurate.
- How do I add more templates?
- Use the admin module to upload a JSON config and thumbnail. You can duplicate any existing row to accelerate production.
